The article characterizes the electric power industry in the Arctic regions of Krasnoyarsk Krai, the Sakha Republic (Yakutiya), and Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (AO). It provides a comparative study of power system structures and identifies main problems of power supply to consumers. A summary of results obtained when studying the key areas of power generation diversification are presented. The paper also lists domestic power generation equipment designed for arctic environments that is necessary to improve the efficiency of stand-alone power generation.
